Rapid City Junior Football 2024 - Fall 2024

Join the Rapid City Junior Football Association's 2024 Fall Season! Open to boys and girls entering 1st through 6th grade in September/October 2024, our program offers a fun and supportive environment for young athletes.

  • Flag Football Division (1st - 3rd grade): Introduces the basics of football in a non-contact format, focusing on teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Tackle Football Division (4th - 6th grade): Provides a competitive, full-contact experience with advanced techniques and strategies.

We ensure every child gets meaningful playing time with our mandatory play rules. Games are held on Tuesday and Thursday nights, leading up to exciting championship matches.

We also encourage parental involvement! Sign up as a head coach and receive a 100% registration fee refund, or as an assistant coach for a 50% refund for one player, upon completion of the online USA Football Coach Certification.

  • When are teams set for the 2024 season?: Teams will be set after the regular registration period closes.
  • How are may players can be on a team?: Teams capacity is capped at 22 players for tackle division and 10 players for flag divisions.
  • What criteria is used to set teams?: Teams are formed according to league guidelines, prioritizing returning players, school alignment, area of town, and available roster space.
  • When do practices start?: Coaches will receive their team rosters in the second full week of August and can then contact players to begin practices.
  • Where is practice held?: Coaches determine practice locations, typically held in public parks or school grounds near the players' neighborhoods.
  • When do games start?: Games will start after Labor Day.
  • Is it possible to get a refund?: Refunds are available until the 1st game and must be requested in writing via the Contact Us page. Refunds will be issued once all equipment is returned.
